I started drawing when I was a child and, as a teenager, got impassioned by optical illusions, classical figurative art and graffiti, in that order. I then began painting murals before going into Fine Arts in CÉGEP. Afterwards, I worked in a scenic painting studio and several Montréal galleries where I worked as much with commercial works as community focused ones. I then opened a gallery with friends before returning to school and completing a printmaking degree between NSCAD and Concordia. I have since exhibited works and painted murals across Canada as well as in the USA.


J’ai commencé à dessiner étant tout petit, et me suis mis au graffiti et au dessin figuratif lorsque j’étais adolescent. J’ai ensuite commencé à peindre des murales avant de débuter mes beaux arts au cégep. Par la suite, j’ai travaillé à un studio d’art scénique puis ai travaillé à diverses galeries montréalaises, autant pour de l’art cher et raffiné que public et accessible. Par la suite j’ai ouvert une galerie, maintenant fermée, avant de commencer un bac en arts imprimés. J’ai depuis peint plusieurs murales et exposé des oeuvres à travers le Canada.

What I am fascinated by are the different methods which can be employed in order to create an image. We are acclimatized to seeing images on screens or printed matter, yet there are far more extant processes. Often, by playing with expectations and new methods of image-making, it becomes possible to surprise and even instill a sense of marvel in onlookers.


Ce qui me fascine, ce sont les différentes méthodes qui peuvent être employées pour créer des images. Nous sommes habitués à voir des images sur des écrans ou imprimées digitalement, mais il existe énormément d’autres procédés. Souvent, en jouant avec la façon qu’est créée une image, de nouvelles impressions et réactions émergent. Ainsi, il est possible de surprendre et parfois même d’émerveiller le public.
